Hope everyone is having an amazing month of February. It’s full on winter up here in Canada where I’ve been staying. I can truly say that this is one of my favourite winters. It’s not so much that I love the cold but I’ve really been taking the time to love where I’m at. I have always been a big dreamer and for many years wish I lived somewhere warm. I’ve Recently reconnected with the realization that if you don’t learn to love where you are, you won’t be able to love where you’re going. So this year instead of wishing for hot vacations and warm weather, I’m enjoying the simple things in life.
I’ve been staying with a girlfriend over the last few months and she has 2 of her own kids and 2 more step kids. I don’t have any kids of my own but I can tell you that they are a blessing beyond anything I could ask for. In this short few months I’ve received more unconditional love than I ever have as an adult. Children have a way of giving off a spirit of hope and excitement for each new day. It’s the simple things like their daily adventures through the hallways and their imagination and their little giggles that put a smile on my face.
I have not finished the book I started in the new year and mostly because of the constant but totally welcome distractions from these little angels. I have to say that it’s worth slowing things down to enjoy these little people that will not always be little.
As far as an update for what’s been going on I have to say I’m still working on getting the BMM’s new books out by April and continuing the search for great all natural recipes and tips and tricks to getting the most out of life. I think my current experiences are valuable and priceless all at the same time. I’m getting a new perspective on how to time manage and create healthy environments for the whole family. Mostly what I’m learning is to NOT sweat the small stuff.
I guess I felt the need to share that with you whether you have kids or not. Children are a blessing as I’m sure you have heard but I want to say that they truly do have something to teach and we can all learn something from them. If you have kids, I know they can be a lot of work so make sure you get the break you need. That way you can give and receive the attention that is needed to produce strong relationships. As for you people that don’t have kids, try giving someone that does have kids a hand by watching them for the night to give them a break. It can be the best “night in” you never knew you could have. If we all helped each other out in our communities I think we would have better balance. I know we are living in a world where there is less and less trust in our neighbours but I do believe this is something that might just be missing in our communities. We need share each other burdens and blessings. We are meant to help one another.
Anyway… I’m not sure if that resonates with any of you but I felt the need to share. It’s February after all, the month of love and family. I want to wish you all a very happy Family month. Stay healthy, safe and surround yourself with love.
